W:  Good morning, Mr. Smith.
M: Thanks for volunteering to work at our senior citizen’s center again.
W: I’m happy to help. And I brought some snacks for the elderly.
M: How considerate of you! Last time you donated some books. Everyone really enjoyed reading them.
W: It was my pleasure. So, what am I supposed to do today? Should I prepare lunch like I did before?
M: There are some other volunteers today, and they’ll do that work.
W:  Good. Then what would you like me to do?
M: Well, you could do the dishes or clean the laundry room.
W:  I’m good at washing dishes. So I’ll do that.
M: Great. We’ll have someone else clean the laundry room.

M:  Excuse me.
W:  Yes. How can I help you?
M: I lost a book that I checked out and I’m not sure what to do.
W: Okay. You may buy a copy of the same book for the library or pay the cost of the lost book.
M: I tried to buy one at the bookstore downtown, but unfortunately it’s out of stock right now.
W:  Then you can just pay the cost of the book.
M:  Okay. Can I pay it now?
W: Sure. I need to check the price of the book. May I see your library card, please?
M:  Of course. [Pause] Here it is.
W: Thanks. [Typing sound] Is the lost book True to Our Feelings?
M: Yes.
W: All right. I’ll check the price of the book. Wait a moment, please.
M:  Okay, thanks.

M: Sophia, we have a problem with our school trip next week.
W:  What do you mean, Brian?
M: It’s supposed to rain all next week according to the weather forecast.
W:  Oh, no. And it’s too late to change the date.
M: Right. That’s too bad because I know the students have been really looking forward to going to the S&J Amusement Park.
W:  I know, but I think we have to change the place.
M:  Do you have any place in mind?
W: How about going to the Museum of Modern Art instead?
M: That’s a good idea, but it’s too small for all of our students. Oh, I’ve got an idea! How about the Play K-Pop theme park? Actually, it’s the second favorite place our students want to visit.
W:  Perfect. The students will love that place.
 
M: Then, can you call a teachers’ meeting to discuss the change of our school trip? I’ll see if we can reserve tickets to the park.
W:  Okay, I will.

W:  I’d like to, but I thought you were going with Jack.
M: I was supposed to, but unfortunately he sprained his ankle while playing soccer yesterday and needs to just stay home.
W: That’s too bad. I wish I could go to the musical with you, but I’m afraid I can’t.
M:  Why? What do you have to do this afternoon?
W:  I need to take my grandma to the airport, and go   to a watch repair shop to have my watch with broken glass fixed.
M:  Oh, I think I can go to the repair shop for you.
W:  Really? That’d save me some time.
M: No problem. Just give me your watch, and tell me where the shop is located.
W: Okay, thanks a lot. I think I can go to the musical with you then.

M: Pam, how much time do we have before Mom and Dad come back?
W:  Well, we have about an hour.
M:  Oh, then I need to hurry up.
W: You’re not done cooking yet? This is supposed to be a surprise wedding anniversary party for Mom and Dad, so you’d better finish quickly.
M: I know. I’ll be done in about 20 minutes. Have you finished making an anniversary card for them?
W: Yeah. And I decorated the living room with balloons.
M: Thanks. I didn’t realize it’d take so long to cook everything.
W: That’s okay. You’re almost done. Where’s the cake that you ordered? You said you’d pick it up from the bakery.
M: Oh, I totally forgot. Pam, sorry but can you do that for me? I need to finish cooking.
W: Okay. And when I come back, I’ll help you clean the kitchen.
M:  Thank you so much.

M:  Liz, the dance club audition is tomorrow    morning.
Do you know how many applicants there are?
W: Yeah. I checked the club’s blog. There are 15 applicants. Here’s the list.
M: Oh, that’s more than I expected. Our promotional posters must have worked!
W:  Yeah,  I  guess so.  Have  you  confirmed with Mr.
Wilkins that he’s going to judge the audition?
M: Yes, I just talked to him. The music files for the audition are ready, right?
W: Sure. I’ve downloaded them onto the computer this morning.
M: Great. Oh, what about speakers? Remember we were going to try to find some louder ones than ours?
W: Yeah. I asked the music teacher yesterday if we could borrow some speakers and she said yes. I’ll go get them now.
M: Great. I’ll go check the video camera to record the auditions.
W:  Okay. See you in a while.

W: Hi, Mr. Swift. I’m getting things ready for the local theater company performance that’s this Friday.
M: Oh, I almost forgot that they’re coming to our school this Friday. So, you’re decorating the stage for the performance.
W: Yes. I have so many things to do. Mr. Swift, do you have some time now?
M:  Sure. I can help you if you want.
W:  Great! Thank you so much.
M: No problem. I see a stack of posters over there. I can put them up on the bulletin boards if you’d like.
W: Someone else is working on that. Oh, we need to set up a table in front of the entrance.
M:  You mean a table for pamphlets?
W: Right. Could you do that for me? You can use the big table in the art room.
M:  Okay. Just leave it to me.
W: Great, thanks! I’m going to go check the lights on the stage.
